Sulphate radical-based advanced oxidation technologies for removal of COD and ammonia from hazardous landfill leachate: A review

چکیده

Solid waste landfill (SWL) is known as a major pollution source contaminating air, water sources, and soil environment. The main hazard of SWL leachate including high organic matter nutrients. Recently, sulphate radical-based advanced oxidation processes (SR-AOPs) based on persulphate (PS) have been applied useful method for removal chemical oxygen demand (COD) ammonia from (LL). efficiency the SR-AOPs depends effective parameters such pH, oxidant dosage, catalyst temperature, reaction time, so forth. Among SR-AOPs, thermal (TPO) seems to be promising both COD ammonia; however, amount energy cost regarded drawback. drawbacks future challenges use LL discussed, some strategies using coupled mechanisms proposed tackle common difficulties. Finally, performance treatment has compared with hydroxyl radical processes.
